Chinese Medicine Practitioner
“I had tried countless remedies before stumbling upon Chinese medicine.
It changed my life.
Then, I made it my career.”
I’m Dr Jess Bowkett.
I’m a university trained and nationally registered Chinese medicine practitioner.
Like many who find themselves in the healthcare profession, my journey began when I was a patient, navigating my own health challenges over many years.
When Chinese medicine was first suggested to me, I didn’t think it would work.
However, it changed my life.
It gave me my quality of life.
And now, it thrills me to introduce the power of acupuncture and Chinese herbs to people just like you.
You can think of me as your Chinese medicine GP.
I offer acupuncture & herbal medicine solutions for a variety of health concerns.

It’s common for people to have tried many other health specialists before landing in my clinic.
The Chinese medicine approach recognises that all of the body’s organs and systems are interconnected. No body-part or symptom will be considered in isolation from your whole being.
My consultation style is relaxed and conversational. I want you to feel truly seen and heard, whilst in the presence of a practitioner attuned to the complexities of your health concerns.
I firmly believe that both Eastern and Western medicine play a role in outstanding health care.
My practice aims to integrate and celebrate the strengths of both traditional Eastern medicine and mainstream Western medicine.
My extensive biomedical science background ensures that I can interpret your Western medicine diagnoses and pathology results. I enjoy working alongside GPs, medical specialists and other allied health professionals to provide you with a truly holistic healthcare experience.
I’ve got a degree in neuroscience from the University of Melbourne, and a double degree in health science and Chinese medicine from RMIT University.
I’m a trained fertility acupuncturist and Fertile Life Method practitioner.
I’m proud to have trained with some of Australia’s leading Chinese medicine practitioners and herbal dermatologists.
I have up-skilled in the areas of thyroid conditions, autoimmunity, cancer and classical herbal prescribing.
When I’m not immersed in all things Chinese medicine …
You can find me working on my golf swing, dining my way through Melbourne's stellar food scene, or with my head in a book somewhere outdoors.
